Silicone, soft and durable. Odorless. Hugging your finger like second skin. – This product description are quilters description of our own experience. Not a suggestion for anyone to eat it or for medical purposes. Please note, we HAVE NOT sent them for any professional test on whether food grade means it is eatable or qualification for medical use.
The reason I selected the “food grade” silicone instead of the “hardware grade” is not for one to eat it. But because it is softer than those rubber ones in the market. I gave my design of the grabber to a manufacturer to make them for us. This factory was selected because it makes silicone products for baking and desktop/computer accessories and knew what I was talking about when I specified that I did not want latex in it. So far no report on allergy or anything other discomfort from quilters. No one has reported that they have eaten it out of hunger or curiosity. And obviously it is no less safe than your silicone baking tray or your iphone cover or any other computer accessaries.
Disclaimer: this products are intended strickly for hand sewing purposes to ease pressure on gripping fingers. Not for hospital grade medical or surgical purposes. If anyone intends it for other purposes than improve gripping in sewing, please do you own test.
