Best hand sewing needles in economic combo set - a set of three packets in any size(s) for less! Place your choice of sizes in the "order comment" column.
Thimblelady's fine hand sewing needles are made of surgical steel. They are made sharper and thinner with a smoother surface - egonomically designed to reduce the stress on sewing hands from "gripping", "pushing" and "pulling" needles.
How needle matters? The Length and gauge of a needle matters to the ease or stress on your sewing hand. Use thick and short needles against densely woven materials hurt sewing hands. Relatively long needle, thin needle with sharp points and smooth surface are key to better hand sewing without pain!
Why only three sizes? These 3 Sizes are designed to cover all densities and thicknesses of fabrics in the market. Be it cotton, silk or wool! Be it quilt, applique or piece; Be it embroidery or mending, all you need is the three sizes of needles, all made thinner, longer, sharper and smoother! All technical dimensions of each size needles and instructions on how to match needle with density of weaves of materials you sew are on the back of each packaging of the needles.
L: best for hand piecing and hand quilting for large hands, M: best for hand quilting and piecing for small and medium size hands and hand applique and all general hand sewing of general projects; S: for finest needle turn applique using the finest and densest weave fabrics, such as batik fabrics etc.
*For needle turn applique: Use Size S needle for Thimbleldy's innovative applique techniques and #100 YLI silk thread for finest applique result, for easy threading! Size M and L are plenty good enough if you have large hands and your applique designs are around simple to intermediate level skill: meaning with reasonably wide seams (such as 1/4inch or 1/8 in wide seams) and your projects materials are general commercial materials. Size S needle can be used for all level needle turn applique but it is a must for advanced needle turn skills with very fine seams to turn!
*For hand piecing (whipstitch piecing): Double the YLI Silk thread and use Size S needle and stitch with Thimblelady's new invention - the Stitch Regulator to achieve perfect piecing stitches with ease!
*For hand piecing (American method): Use Size M needle - thin and long, so you can load many stitches at a time. Easy and Fast.
*For hand quilting: Thimblelady's fine, long and sharp Size M is the best if you can quilt with Thimblelady's pain free hand quilting technique (no pricking fingers and load 14 stitches at a time) for general quality and densities of commercial materials. Size L needle is great and more comfortable for quilters and sewers with large hands. Just make sure you choose looser weave materials to sew with thicker needles! Thimblelady's fine cotton satin is the very best for fine stitches as well as ease of quilting! Try it, you will know what I am talking about!
For embroidery and average hand sewing: Size M and L are the best for cotton embroidery threads and any #40 -#60 threads. For fine silk embroidery, use Size S needles.

The Thimblelady needles are simply the best I have ever worked with.
They're quite long, very thin and they are well finished so that they glide through the fabric with ease. When I saw how thin the size S ones were, I was a bit nervous that they might break in use. But so far (about 15 hours of use so far), I haven't even managed to bend them.
Their most outstanding and yet mysterious quality to me is how easy they are for me to thread. I have needles from other brands that appear to have similar sized eyes but the Thimblelady needles are just easier to thread. I don't know the reason(s) why, all I know is how much I appreciate the greater ease.

Love the needles. Very sharp and strong. Wish eyes were a little larger. I'm getting up in years and find needle hard to thread. Eyes aren't as good as they used to be.

I love the needles. We used to be able to buy then In Hoorn (the Netherlands) but now we can't. So when I am in Australia I usually order them. Now I have to order them for several other people as well. We just love them because they are sharp and strong.

The needles are thin but strong. Although the eye is small it is not too difficult to thread. The small needles are great for jobs where there is very little space to sew. Best needles I have used in recent years.

I love these needles, they are so sharp, they just glide through the fabric, making any sewing that much easier. I am spoilt now, I won't use any other brand. Thank you very much for such a great product

I have purchased your needles in the past and used them for hand applique. They are perfect. They thread wonderfully and make the smallest stitches. They last and keep their point. I love them.

The needles slip so easily through the fabric. There is never any pulling or tugging. They are like greased lightening and so gentle on the fingers.

I never really got the hang of quilting with betweens, I guess. They always made me feel clumsy. But with these wonderful needles, I get smaller, more even stitches and can load more stitches on the needle as well.

These needles are perfect for hand piecing and quilting. There are sizes for different weights of fabric. These needles are the best.
