Quilting fabrics at its Best

You may have thought quilting fabrics are cotton. Do you know there is much to the cotton fabrics that can be improved to enhance your quiltworks.

First is the thickness of yarns to make the material. Through quilting, applique and piecing myself, I started to realize thinner fabrics make better points because the seams are not as bulky! Then is the density of fabric weaves. Like all those who have appliqued or pieced, I found densely woven fabrics hold shapes better for applique and piecing by hand or by machine!

These are the knowledge behind and the point of difference of Thimblelady's own fine cotton fabrics in graduated colours to cover the whole rainbow with 98 colours on 14 pieces of fabrics in 56 inches/145cm width. Plus the reast of Thimblelady's solids, such as solid white, solid black, Gold, Moroccan blue... as well as the Indigo Patch

However, our silky white cotton satin is a different kind of cotton! It is not dense in weave though it is fine because it is made especially for hand quilting. It hand dyes beautifully too. So you can create any colours with it. See the pictures below:

If you have found it great to sew with, that is why! For those of you who haven't tried Thimblelady's unique fabrics, not so skilled with machine sewing or want to excel in hand sewing - these fabrics are made for you. Here is what our customer said:

I received my fabric in the mail. It was beautifully packed.
At first I didn't realise there was colour gradation. I just
stood and stroked the fabric. It was so soft to handle, I
could not believe it. Then I unfolded it and saw it in all its
glory. To say I was delighted by this fabric is to understate
my reaction. It is the best!
