  1. Fantastic thimble and technique

    I am new to quilting and quickly gave up on the traditional way of hand quilting. It was too hard. I found this technique online, bought the starter package and love it! My only complaint is that the package is overpriced for what it is, but in the long run I suppose it was worth it because I love quilting and am extremely happy with the results.

    I was given a traditional silver thimble as a Christmas present from one of my quilting friends. She had purchased the package with the hoop.

    I found the printed instruction sheet a little vague. So I got online and purchased the quilting package. I scrolled through website a few times prior to purchasing. I found the free Youtube video demo also encouraged me to buy the DVD and book. I found both very helpful. I also loved the practice batting, cotton thread, and needles fantastic. I have been trying to practice quilting each day. I have a trapunto project which has been much easier with the thimble. I would like to learn using my thumb and then I would purchase a silver thimble. My only criticism would be the practice plastic thimbles. The plastic ones haven't been easy for me to use. I much prefer the silver thimble.

    Dear Liuxin,
    First, I would like to thank you for your wonderful technique. I am new to the world of quilting and tried traditional rocking method. All I got were poor stitches and sore fingers. I am so glad I discovered your web site. After receiving the essential quilting package and making good progress, I soon realized I needed your hands free hoop and silver thimble. You were spot on about the size in your video. The plastic ML was a tiny bit too small and the L was far too big. The ML silver cone thimble is perfect. It has a special spot in a velvet bag in my sewing basket when I am not using it, which is not as often as I would like!
    I have only been practicing for a couple weeks but my stitches are getting better every day. The cotton satin(?) and the wool batting also make a huge difference, which gets me to my second comment (question): is the fabric that came with the package the same cotton satin you sell on your web site? It needles like a dream!
    Again , I can't say enough how pleased I am with the DVD and book. Thanks, ThimbleLady!
