Thimblelady Mini-Teaching Retreat 2008 will be on both in Australia and US next year!

Thimblelady Teaching Retreat is a 3 day (usually around a weekend) stay-in event in a nice motel with catering and lectures...so we can get together not only have informative day-classes but also have several short lectures, homework night and show and tell...so we can have lots of fun too!

From now on, this will be my major teaching outside Sydney. So please try to book into these classes when you can. You can come as a day girl. We would love you to stay in (even if you are a local) with us for all the fun events after classes.

We will focus on teaching the subjects Thimblelady is best at - better applique and quilting without pain. We want to include other teachers with innovative techniques and knowledge to join us in the future. We shall gradually cover all important sewing skills of applique, piecing, quilting, embellishing and finishing...

Accredited Teacher Course
This course will be held both in Australia and US and open to everyone who is passionate about quilting by hand, who is honest and sharing. Preferrably an excellent quilter and excellent teacher with good reputations. Good and reputable references (recommendation from reputable personnels and your latest quilt) are very important.

Class Fee: A$120 for a two full-day course and essential teaching aids and accessories.

Objective: Excellence in teaching Perfect Hand Quilting Without Pain. Every "Accredited Teacher" represents Thimblelady's high standard of excellence and abide by the terms and conditions set forth in Thimblelady trade mark Teaching License.

To achieve this objective
- You must attend this course so Liuxin can witness you quilting (in action) during the course.
- You must sign a legal contract on a annual basis and pay an anual License fee.
- You must demonstrate a good command of this technique.
- You must be able to present this technique in a "class seminar" as part of the course.

What to do before the course: Learn Thimblelady's pain free folding technique through her class or her book - be able to quilt without pricking your under finger and fold quilts well.

What to do during the Course: Learn what needles skill required (must be able to quilt any size stitches you wish - Liuxin will help you during the course. She would be very happy if you prepare well before the class); learn how to present the class and how to conduct problem solving. Those who reached the standards during the class will be certified at the completion of the course.

What to do after the Course: Those who didn't reach the standards need to do more homework. Once you learned during the course what the standards are and find out the exact room for your improvement, you can then take more time to prepare yourself and submit your final presentation within a year after the course to Thimblelady for the certificate without doing the course again.
